You will arrive at the Karnak temple complex after a brief ride. This temple is regarded as one of Ancient Egypt's most prominent monuments. Its main structure is enclosed by a massive enclosure wall used for religious celebrations. The Hypostyle Hall, which features 134 huge columns carved with scenes from daily life as well as reliefs portraying King Thutmose III's military conquests against Syria and Nubia, can be visited.
Following that, you will take a boat excursion to Luxor Temple, which was built during Amenhotep III's reign and is devoted to the gods Amun Re, Mut, and Khonsu. It is divided into two great temples, one dedicated to Amun-Re and the other to Mut-Thekhu deities. In addition to these two temples, other structures within the complex include Colonnade Hall and the Small Temple of Hathor, which are located on the north side of Amenhotep III Temple.
Finally, you will return to your cruise ship and spend the night on board.
Lunch and dinner are served.
Today is your second day aboard the Royal La Terrasse Nile Cruise, and you have a full day of activities planned.
After breakfast, you'll depart for a morning trip to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an ancient Egyptian temple built during the 18th Dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, who served as regent to her stepson Thutmose III The temple was built to commemorate and celebrate Amun, who had favored Hatshepsut and helped her become pharaoh by giving her a celestial father figure Amun himself.
The day will continue with a journey to the Valley of the Kings, where you will explore some of Egypt's most famous tombs, including those of Tutankhamun and Ramses III. The journey concludes with a visit to Colossi Memnon, two massive stone sculptures of Amenhotep III that were relocated to their current place in the 19th century CE.
After lunch at The Nile Restaurant, your tour will continue with a visit to Esna. Overnight stay on board.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We'll spend some time exploring Edfu and Kom Ombo, both ancient cities. You'll be able to see two of Egypt's most important temples while you're here the Temple of Horus and the Temple of Sobek.
Your day begins with a visit to Edfu's Temple of Horus. Some of the best specimens of Egyptian art and architecture can be seen here. Pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 BCE) erected the temple, which was devoted to Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky and monarchy. Then it's on to Kom Ombo temple, where you'll hear about its significance in relation to Egypt's unity under King Ramses II (1279-1213 BCE).
Finally, you'll return down the Nile for a moonlight voyage to Aswan, where your journey will come to a conclusion in style!
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Today is a full day of touring in Aswan. You'll see the Aswan High Dam, which holds back 90% of the water in Lake Nasser. You'll be able to observe how the dam was constructed and learn about its history. Take a picture of yourself standing on the dam while watching the world's longest river flowing beneath it.
Then you'll witness the huge granite rock-cut Philae Temple, as well as the majestic Temple of Isis—one of only two remaining temples on the island of Philae—and the Unfinished Obelisk, which Ramses II began but never finished owing to his death.
After that, enjoy some free time. In the evening, dine on board the Royal La Terrasse Nile Cruise before spending the night at Aswan.
